It is fluffy and fragile like original. Is it the wrong one?** A: My chimney sweep told me before I ordered that the replacement was better than the original even though it would be a different composition. He does hundreds of cleanings a year and knows Quadafire stoves better than any sweep I had worked with before. I like my sweep and trust his knowledge. Product worked as he said and was better than the original. **Q: This says it is 1/2 inch thick but is not that thick. The original that came with our quadrafire woodstove is 1/2 inch thick. Will this work?** A: Thanks for your question. The product should be 1/2" thick. The raw material used in fabricating these does vary +/- 1/16". If your product is more than 1/16" thin we would be more than happy to offer a full refund or replacement. Technically a thin board would still work. The baffle board and in conjunction with air tubes create a secondary burn area right at the surface of the baffle board which burns off smoke and small particulates. This would still function as intended. **Q: How often do these generally need to be replaced?** A: as long as your baffle board remains in tact, the blanket will last.
