I used on clad aluminum and it wouldn't engrave **Q: Is this engraver strong enough and with a fine enough point to engrave my name (size 12-16 font) into my running medals?** A: Yes. I’ve bought several of these. I’ve tried different tools including dremels. This seems to work the best. Practice on something else first. I’d also suggest writing in thin marker and then engraving over so you don’t make mistakes. **Q: Does this get hot?** A: No, not really. If you were engraving a poem it might.
