I'm wondering if during the absence from the site if they totally changed some things. The formula? Process? Ingredients? Now, they are very hard, unpleasant to try to chew, and the flavor is almost nondescript. Also, the deep black color and perfect texture are no more. These have an almost translucent look to them and they are a very dark shade of brown instead of black. I do not like them now at all. Could it be that I received a bad batch? I hope so. I will give this bag one star and attempt to repurchase another time.
