The video I posted was a cut on seasoned dry red oak. And I applied no pressure. The cutting edges are very sharp and easily cut into the wood. Now that I have had more time with it; I really like it. To answer your question, yes it does for me. Just as fast as my other Japanese style saws and due to the handy size and grip.
