Object: After doing the same thing, surround the opponent's queen bee while trying to block your opponent. Each player has 13 tiles. Represents another insect. Review: pocketと付いていますが全然ちゃっちくないです。恐らく碁石と同じか若干大きいくらい。重量も軽すぎずいい感じです。しかも拡張のてんとう虫と蚊付きは良い。 固有の動きを持つ虫たちで相手の女王蜂を囲めば勝ちというゲーム。ただ、虫たちは一固まりでなければならない。 ルールは難解ではありませんが、全くゲームをしない人は少し難しく感じるのかなと思います。将棋やチェスのように運要素0の戦略ゲームなので、そういうのが好きな人はかなりハマると思います。ゲームやらない人とやるときはバックギャモンやロストシティなど運要素があるゲームの方が初心者にも勝ち目があり、盛り上がりはあるかなと思います。 ただ、経験者同士でやるクワガタのタワーや、超劣勢かと思われていた形勢から一発逆転することもあり、買う価値は十分にあると思います。耐久も高そうですし、紛失しなければ半永久的に遊べそうです。 ちなみにお互い駒を使えなくなっていくので、引き分けもそれなりに起こるゲームです。女王蜂が隣り合い、同時に詰みになる場合も。それはそれで楽しいですが。 一人二役でやってもまあまあ楽しい。価値アリ。

**Q: Does Hive pocket edition have the same size tiles as the regular Hive game?**
A: Not sure, I believe the regular game has larger tiles but the pocket edition has tiles that are a resonable size.  Honestly, I couldn't imagine them being any bigger that how they are in the pocket edition.

**Q: Are the Mosquito and Ladybug expansions compatible with Pocket Hive? Or are they included as additional pieces for the base Hive set?**
A: Hive Pocket is a full, but smaller version of Hive, and it includes the Mosquito and Ladybug expansions. The tiles included are meant to be paired with the Hive Pocket set, as they are smaller pieces than the original set.

**Q: Are the instructions in English?**
A: Yes, the included instructions were in English when I ordered here -- and there is also PDF version on the publisher's website at http://www.gen42.com/downloads/rules/hive_pocket_rules.pdf

**Q: What are the dimensions of both the original and the pocket tiles?**
A: The diameter of the pocket game pieces are slightly less than 1 inch. The original game pieces are about 1.5 inches in diameter.
