Buy two. *by T***K on January 13, 2020* Okay, so this knife was weirdly short, stout, and well... kind of ugly.I now have THREE of them because they are awesome. These knives are about as solidly built as you can find. Very thick slab of D2 steel with a hair popping edge right out of the box. Very nice fit and finish overall, but I did hit the blade with some 3000 then 5000 grit Trizact to make it a little bit more polished (takes a while... D2 is not easy to make shine). Now it’s super smooth, beyond razor sharp, and even at this price point (I got mine for about a third less when they debuted) you won’t be afraid to actually USE IT. I have a couple dozen “safe queen” knives that cost 10 times as much as this one, but I wouldn’t bring them out unless it’s TEOTWAWKI.FWIW, I used this as a punch through a 55 gallon steel drum. Not a scratch on it, and the edge is perfectly intact.Well done, DEFCON. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Size Doesn't Matter *by I***T on July 5, 2018* My wife sniped my choice of the Proelia Defcon TD006 9.0 in Fixed Blade...So I decided to show her size isn't everything and ordered the 7.5 (average) sized Proelia with serrations...Well, I was right and wrong. These knives truly are a workhorse, save your ass, stab a shark to survive kinda knives ( yes I'm aware d2 and saltwater aren't best friends, just an analogy...Picture Big Foot if it helps.) The sheath is top notch, excellent retention, perfect grind from the factory, excellent grip ergonomics with the finger grooves and scalloping if you have mid to normal size hands. Apparently it's grip is a bit too aggressive for my wife, however, shes legally a hobbit so...ya know shoes and handles are hard to find... It's impossible to make everyone happy. Now where I was wrong in the size area...the Defcon 9.0 inch is one damn sexy piece of craftsmanship. the 7.5 inch is the ugly friend that still gets the job done. No, let me rephrase that...She does the job way better than you ever thought possible, so you'll tell your friends this time. Everyone loves riding a scooter once in a while, doesn't mean it needs to be public knowledge. In parting, if your on the fence...fall off already and just be sure to land on the American side where these are produced. These knives if properly maintained will outlive me, that's not saying a whole lot in my case, I treat my body not as a temple but as a beer vessel. Yet I'm sure any children I have someday will be healthy and outlived by these incredibaly durable and reliable knives.
