The important thing is the external diameter and how easy it is to fit these on the irrigation tube. The answer is that even after plunging the end of the tube in boiling water these connectors are really really hard to push onto the tube. More often than not I manage to get it over the first ridge but give up on the 2nd since by then the tube has cooled too much and it won't get over the 2nd ridge. The single ridged connectors are much easier.
