I could buy 3 for the price of one the more famous brands. It was less than half the weight of my previous pump, which makes a difference when you are pulling that puppy out of a deep tank. Also, the lifting ring where I attached my rope, is very sturdy and well designed. It fell off the old pump because of a design flaw - cost me a lot of time and effert to retrieve the pump. This unit has as almost much power as the unit I replaced, and muvh easier to install and remove. I do have one nit. The tandom plug arraingement so that you can use manual or auto activation feels like a bad idea. It sticks out so far that even with an expanded water-tight enclosure I couldn't get the cords to fit. I had to cut the plugs off and hard-wire the the pump and flow for full time automatic operation. Not a big deal, but I wasted time to do it the hard way.
