    Blocks access to remote connector

*by I***T on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 September 2018*

This is almost identical to the Smallrig A7iii bracket - in fact the only difference I can see is that this one does not have the little magnets to hold the Allen key attached. It's well made and fits well, but even though it's made of aluminium, still adds somewhat to the weight of the camera. A bigger problem is that the side plate, although able to slide away from the body by about 20mm, still blocks access to the cable release/remote socket for all but the slimmest micro USB plugs. The only option would be to completely remote the little flap that covers the socket when not in use, allowing water/dust ingress. While you can shoot photos up to 30 secs using an IR remote, longer exposures really benefit from a ‘proper’ cable release. For this reason I returned it.

    A Great L Bracket for the A7riii

*by P***B on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 October 2018*

I managed to bag this L bracket under a promotion which saved me £4 on the item. I've since ordered from amazon a pack of 2mm x 1mm thick neodymium magnets and super glued them into the small holes underneath the bracket. This is an obvious copy of the small rig bracket and maybe they couldn't completely copy it and include magnets for the hex spanner as well, but its an easy fix.I can reiterate what others have said in regards to a corded remote shutter, it is finicky especially if you go vertical, but Ive just photographed a fireworks display with the bracket, tripod and shutter release and managed to have it working fine.I think if I was to purchase a second one, I'd go for the smallrig as the price difference isnt too much, but overall cant really fault this product
