I'm a new rider and new to these Bluetooth units. At first, I installed this unit with the clip on the outside of the helmet and installed the speakers in the cutouts of my helmet. I could barely hear anything. Turns out, I had to move the speakers to a different spot in my helmet as the sound was not making it into my ear canal. I ride with earplugs to prevent tinnitus. Once I found the right spot in my helmet, I was able to hear both speakers well, even with earplugs. Other reviews said it was not loud enough, but it isplenty for me. I rode on the highway, and at 70 I can still hear it clearly. You need to find the correct spot on your helmet and mount it where your ears can best hear it. Make sure you figure out where to mount the pleakers and unit first before sticking them on. There will be trial and error, so be patient with it. With phone calls, I can hear the person calling and they can hear me. I am super happy with this little I unit. I am not paid for this review, I bought it with my own money.
