How does make sense?** A: American labor in American facilities were earning an almost living wages. Some shops were also unionized which meant they would get medical benefits and retirement. The factories were closed and all the jobs were shipped overseas, in this case, the communist North Vietnam where at the time, labor rate was 50c per day American money.
