I have also added this same hub to my son & 3 different friends 4K firesticks & all work as expected. There is NO compatibility issue with the OTG cable on a Y adapter. Seller refers to the Firestick usb 2.0 connection which is backward compatible. For those who have a fast connection, it pays to remember the ethernet connection on a 4K firestick is 10/100. If you require a faster speed, use your wifi connection. Requirement to stream 4K is listed at 68MB/s. As an aside, I use this hub with a 128gig SDD drive plugged into the hub as well as the bluetooth dongle of a logitech full size computer mouse which contains all 97 programs which I use running at 550MB/s on ethernet speed averages 90MB/s & have user-disabled 41 Amazon proprietary programs.
