I bought it to hike Mt. Fuji and day trip around Japan, and it holds so much without being heavy. For day trips around the city I took the water reservoir out and just carried bottles of water in the side pockets. The reservoir held plenty of water for Fuji without having to refill. With the reservoir full, I also fit a base layer shirt and pair of pants, snacks, GoPro, wallet, small bag of travel size toiletries/necessities, and charging pack. I had a north face zip up fleece that made it pretty wide, but the front pocket is elastic and can stretch pretty far. This thing is awesome! The hip and chest straps also help A LOT. For reference, I am 5'3" and 130 lbs. and the weight was never uncomfortable with the hip and chest straps.
