Perfect size replacement for the original. The original was brass,this one is plastic. However,cost much less. The speaker is clear plastic (mylar) which is great for long-life outdoors. I plan to paint the grille gold after a few months to match the existing door hardware(brass). Very good product. It fit perfectly in the existing front door bell/speaker box. As others have said you have to remove a small cover to attach the wires to the door bell-no big deal. It took me 15 minutes to install with an extra set of hands to help. The lit bell is nice and the speaker sounds very clear. In both cases, the new faceplates were slightly smaller than the original, leaving an unpainted border around it. The attaching screws that came with the new plates are of poor quality. If your original screws are still good, use them or predrill the holes so the new ones don't need to be torqued much - one of mine broke off.
