The cap of the pen tells u the ink color. The orange color of the barrel means it is a fine tip unlike the clear barrel which is always a medium tip. I wish we could still get the BIC orange pens in the USA, but found I could only order then from the UK. At least BIC is still making them. I prefer ball point over rollerball or gel and love Bic, but don't buy them much since I prefer fine point pens. Too sad BIC doesn't sell in USA anymore that I could find. **Q: The picture on the box shows the pen is orange all th way to the tip. But on picture shows a blue tip on the writing end.
