The capacitor can store a charge for a long time and is dangerous. It should be carefully grounded to remove any residual charge. Make sure the 220v circuit breaker is turned off and check for voltage with a volt meter before beginning any work. Remove the old relay and find the part number. You need a 220v double throw relay rated at around 40 amps. Again, the work is dangerous and even experienced HVAC repairmen manage to kill themselves if they are careless.
