It has good bass too. **Q: how does this compare to the Bose speaker?** A: It’s very comparable and in my opinion better than high end Bose speakers. The echo studio is great but I warn everyone that if you plan on building a system, with another studio or a Sub it ONLY WORKS WITH Amazon music. The studio is great for a standard alone speaker, better than Bose IMO. But read up on it before you purchase it. It is very clear what services it’s Compatible with and the all it works with! I use it for my tv and to stream music from my phone. But When I combine it with the other studio in the sub speakers it can only play with Amazon music through them all **Q: Can i pair my echo dot with clock but use my echo dot as my primary and the studio as essentially as a sub/speaker** A: Sort of - you can use it as a primary "replacement" speaker for your Dot - and it has GREAT bass relative to other small speakers/dots etc - >>>but it is not itself a true subwoofer<<< - so your dot would become a clock and mic, and the Studio could handle speaker duties with slight tinkering in the app for multiroom/multi device duties. I do this myself with an old Dot (dial model) which I've connected to my Yamaha YSP 5600 acting as the speaker (and that is connected to a wireless sub) but I'm doing that with an analog cable - so I don't actually have to set up the device - it just works. Remember that the Studio has a 3.5mm AUX port that you can connect directly to your dot - but that port doubles as an optical port with the appropriate 3.5mm to SPIDF/Optical cable - so if you need the Studio to do 5.1 as part of a home theater, you need that port free, and for Atmos it only works wirelessly with Fire devices anyway. Also remember that Atmos is ONLY available wirelessly, via Fire devices. And not all of them.
