I have a cover for my truck bed and I don't want this to affect how it lays.** A: If you follow the instructions I believe it has them mounted on top which would put it higher then the bed rails. I mounted mine reversed so they sit under the bed rails. **Q: Can this be used for flags?** A: I guess it could but I wouldn’t recommend it **Q: Thinking of using edge trim for the reel slots so the reels dont get cut through. Anyone else have ideas?** A: I bought rubber cups for just that reason they hold the rods much tighter and not as much wobble when driving the beach **Q: I know he has some rods that are pretty thick in the handles. But the product needed modifications. I had to drill a hole in the main bar across the truck bed for fit. A simple modification. Then the bracket was no use. So I drilled the side plate to add a single hole to bolt in to the truck. Another simple modification. After that it’s a wonderful addition to transport my gear. If you own a 2020 Ford Ranger you’ll need to make these modifications. Use a drill bit tapper for both the bar and to the top of the rail. I had to drill additional holes in the side adjuster brackets to get an exact fit in the bed of my truck. Also, the rod holders were only secured with two sheet metal screws each and rated to only hold 12 pounds.
