I grabbed the Seachem Axolotl Buffer 250ml after adding two axolotls to my aquarium setup (alongside my established 55-gallon planted tank with the Fluval AC70 and plant holders). Axolotls are super sensitive to pH swings and need consistent 7.4–7.6 water chemistry — this buffer makes maintaining that range effortless and stress-free for the animals. The bottle arrived factory-sealed with a precise dropper cap for easy dosing. The liquid is clear, odorless, and mixes instantly into tank water without clouding or affecting beneficial bacteria in my filter. In real-world use: I dose 5 ml per 10 gallons (about 25 ml for my 55-gallon system) after every water change and twice weekly as needed. It gently raises and stabilizes pH while softening the water by precipitating excess calcium and magnesium — exactly what axolotls love. After several weeks of testing, my parameters stay rock-solid even with heavy feeding and bio load. The axolotls are active, have beautiful gill growth, and show zero signs of stress.
