Our Savage A17 mount is made specific to the gun. Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which gives the shooter flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. The channel in the center reduces the overall mass of the mount, weighing in at 2-3oz on average. Also, in many cases, it will not obstruct usage of factory iron sights. EGW's one piece scope mounts are the obvious choice for hunters and tactical shooters alike.  Add EGW's Practical or HD Scope Rings to make it a complete overhaul!  This mount is a Picatinny-style base and compatible with Picatinny or Weaver scope rings. Installation: EGW recommends 20 inch lbs of torque and a drip of blue loctite (loctite is sold separately).

**Q: What is the difference between the a17 0 moa mount and the  20 moa mount?**
A: The 0 moa is flat, the 20 moa is tapered 20 minutes of angle (moa). The purpose of the 20 moa is to add range to your elevation adjustment. Example: if your 100 yd zero is x0, y0 on your scope with the 0 moa base, and you're making a 400 yd shot with the A17, you would have to dial y (elevation) 80 moa. Most scopes do not have that much range, so the base being 20 moa would place your 100 yard zero at x0, y-20. Now that same 400 yard shot, you have an extra 20 moa available in elevation.

**Q: Bolt clearance?**
A: The Savage A17 is Semi-Auto so I'm a little confused on this question. You DO NEED to mount it so the part with the overhang is towards the front of the gun. Otherwise that will interfere with removing the cover on the top rear of the receiver to access the bolt for removal and cleaning. So... as long as it is mounted properly, bolt access is not an issue.
