Hultafors Swedish Axe Griding Stone with Leather Pouch

Sometimes you spend a little more but it’s worth it. A nice stone in a really nice leather case. Perfect grits to repair and sharpen the axe.The finger slit around the puck helps with ease of use and comfort, and safety!Very nice. Pleasure to use.

I was attracted to this item as the recessed design allows you to keep your fingers safely away from the cutting edge of the axe being sharpened and works really well in this respect.The circular shaped stone has course and fine faces, which allows almost mirror polishing of the axe edge.The supplied strong leather pouch gives a feeling of quirky, old fashioned quality and, although little pricey, I imagine item would be good as a nice, “keep for life” birthday present.

OK it's more expensive than other sharpening pucks but it's a great idea having the concave edge to keep your fingers out of the road. My fiskars axe is now razor sharp!!!!! And without a lot of effort.

I love this, I’ve got hands that belong on a Bear so using things like this can be tricky…. The design of the Hultafors stone makes life easier for me, axes, knives all done without skimming anything off my fingers….its a practical & logical design with a superb leather case that shows a passion for their craft….

Does what other similar sized grinding stones do, but decent design for protecting your fingers.I really like the fact it comes with a pouch though, I can just throw it in my pack and not worry about it rubbing against anything and scratching something.

Does the job, just make sure you know what you are doing.Fingers stay out of the way and the case is good quality.

Lots of (cheaper) alternatives out there, but this one was highly recommended so went with it.Deffo no complaints - really easy to use and gives an amazing edge (Bushcraft Instructor)Looks the business in the leather pouch too.

Amazing we love it, I bought this for my girlfriends birthday as we both love camping. It's a great tool, takes up no space, really easy to use! Also love the leather pouch

J'ai tout d'abord fait un peu tremper ladite pierre dans de l'eau afin de l'hydrater en profondeur.Je l'ai ensuite essayé (sur des couteaux de cuisine de type à désosser) : les deux grains sont bien choisis et adaptés à l'aiguisage d'une hache ou de couteaux ; les doigts sont protégés (tant que l'on fait attention à ce que l'on fait).Ce que j'ai le plus apprécié est l'infinitésimal délitement qui se produit sur la pierre fine : la boue noble qui s'en dégage ("slury") à la fois facilite l'aiguisage et offre un "reflet" de ce que l'on fait (je n'apprécie point les pierres dites "muettes" telles celles d'Arkansas qui, indépendamment de leurs grains, restent "de marbre").L'étui est à la hauteur de la pierre : résistant, adapté, noble et de qualité.Parfaite en cadeau de Noël ...

The cheap rubbish leather case bled nasty tanning residue all over the stone and the box it came with.What a junk cheap case to ruin a stone…what a shame.

La pietra per affilatura dell'ascia Hultafors è un vero gioiello ,presa in abbinamento alla mini accetta Hultafors è una cote di altissimo livello.Bellissima la custodia in pelle che logicamente si abbina alla perfezione alle asce Hultafors.Forse il prezzo ne inibisce un po' l'acquisto ,ma vi posso assicurare che sarà indispensabile e un ottima compagna di vita nel bosco! Io la uso anche per il mio kukri nepalese e per le bisellatureconvex....ed è ottima!!!

Es perfecto al tener una funda donde guardar la piedra cuando la guardemos tras su uso.
