As at least one other reviewer stated, I do believe there used to be more meat content, but I think it's actually better now. I'm not really a fan of super meaty stew. I highly recommend buying this, especially if you're on a budget like myself. Review: It's delicious. It's a bit salty, but the portion size is just right, and it's a great meal when eaten with rice. It has a can opener so you can open it without any tools, and if you're in a hurry, you don't need to microwave it. But it tastes even better when heated. This last batch of 12 cans that I bought recently, have no meat, except for 2 or 3 unidentifiable lumps of something that resembled ground flesh of some animal and tvp. There is nothing in these cans but lots off potatoes and a thick brown broth/gravy/sauce. I actually feel like somebody hijacked the Dinty Moore labels....and stucked them o these cans off slop. Surely, Dinty Moore knows better!!!! **Q: It saids on the can it contains maltodextrin, disodium inosinate, and gulanyate? These chemicals are worse than msg!** A: First of all, your body makes glutomate, and sodium is an essential element for cardiac function. In other words, the flap over monosodium glutomate is based on total lack of understanding. As for the stuff in this stew, remember: They didn't use chemicals like this in the past, when the average human lifespan was around 45 years.
