I am IMPRESSED! *by J***H on July 29, 2017* For years, I have been trying various "natural" deodorants, trying to minimize exposure to aluminum (including alum in the crystal ones) and other toxins, and have had varying results ranging from "OK...most days, at least until afternoon" to flat-out FAIL. I've also experienced persistent rashes with some. I had just about resigned myself to just accepting that this was as good as it gets with natural products but didn't want to give up without trying one more time. I started searching for other options and found the Routine line, which I had never heard of. After reviewing the ingredients, background on the company (having lived near Calgary for 17 years, I'll admit I was a little bit swayed by the idea of supporting a Canadian home-grown business), and reading through many positive reviews, it sounded like it was worth taking a chance so I reluctantly laid down the big bucks for this one. I chose the Sweet Jane Clay & Beeswax formula, and hoped I wouldn't react to the baking soda in it. The scent is delicate but delightful, with light pear and vanilla notes that don't clash with other fragrances. Very wearable, but not a scent that others will notice much, which I prefer in a deodorant. I'd never used a cream before, but didn't find it too difficult to get used to. I keep a tiny cosmetic spatula with it, but that is just personal preference. A little dab will do ya, especially if your skin is very lightly dampened. The first day I tried this, I didn't even give it a second thought until I was getting undressed for bedtime and realized my shirt still smelled as fresh as when I had put it on. Hmmmm...Really?!? WHOA! I usually shower daily, but am convinced that this deodorant may go longer than 24 hours, as I haven't noticed any diminished effect the next morning. I am also very pleased that I haven't had any reaction or rash, and I tend to have very sensitive skin. I recently switched over to trying aluminum free deodorant, and I was worried I would smell like BO the rest of my life. Totally wrong. (For the record, I tried Tom's. Just don't go there.)This stuff works for me in both ways - antiperspirant and deodorizer. I think the thick consistency of this creme helps with that. It's also super easy to apply and goes on smooth!I love the eucalyptus/cocoa combination. It smells delightful but is also very subtle & I can wear it all day at work (8 hours) without catching a whiff of stank. I'm saved! It does require reapplication if you're doing a lot of activity - but I reapply this before the gym and have no issues. Will definitely be buying again!! I have been off standard, chemical-filled deodorant for a few years now, so I didn't have to go through the horrible detox stages, and this stuff worked great right out of the box. I have made my own deodorant in the past, but always ended up having some reaction to one or more ingredients. Since using this brand, I do still have slight darkening of the underarm skin from time to time, but have had no rashes or breakouts at all.
