They used minimal materials yet made a cradle within the box that kept the plant from shifting in any direction. The root ball and planting medium were sealed to keep the moisture just right. Yellow lower, older leaves, like on the hydrangeas I already had outdoors, indicates it has had some temperature hardening and could be planted immediately. Don't expect to receive a full sized shrub like the one in the picture. That would cost Much more than this. My hydrangea is about 18 inches from soil to top. That is what I expected. I saw the gallon sized pot version of this plant priced at 47 dollars at a local nursery two months ago. I'm happy to pay less and wait a few years for it to grow in my yard.
