Western CoolMax Boot Socks 2 Pairs, White/Gray, 10-13

UPDATE: Almost a year later and these socks have been a winner. I wear cowboy boots to work almost every day and on weekends, and use these socks. They show very little wear and the elastic still holds the socks up well. I've never had to pull up my pants leg to pull up the socks because they were drooping. Wish I had found these years ago. This is my original review: I really like these socks. An earlier review convinced me to place my order. The buyer said that he hated boot socks that drop during the day. So do I. Most over the calf socks don't really go that high or the socks are too thick. I have some that are considered to be for steel-toed boots that are just too thick. These CoolMax socks are just the right thickness. While I do like thicker socks, the others I have are way too thick for my boots to fit comfortably. I am ordering four more pair today.

This is the first pair of cowboy boots that I've had in about 62 years, or since I was 6 years old and watched Hoppy, Gabby, Roy and others on TV on Saturdays. When the boots arrived, the wear instructions recommended "boot socks" for proper fit, so I ordered these socks. They're soft and comfortable and make my foot slide easily into the boot, but form a nice snug union, inside. It's true, the combination of boots and boot socks makes for a snug and comfy fit. Now, I know what every good cowboy knows about boots and boot socks, and so, it's Hoppy, Gabby and me, riding the range together, all over again. Yeehaw!

I got the size that was recommended by the sizing chart, and the heel on these socks comes past my heel. The socks are so long, I had to fold down the top three inches to keep it below my knee. Fortunately, my son is 6 inches taller than me, and they fit him beautifully. Note: I wear a size 9 shoe; he wears a 13.

I purchased these socks to wear with a pair of western boots. These were the best I have found for this They fit well, went over my calves, and stay there all day. I had purchased a pair of Dickies "Boot Length" for the same purpose; however, these were just OK as they did not remain over my calves and needed to be pulled up several times during the day. Initially, I thought that the socks could have been a bit more generous in their size. Later, I found that their tight fit is what kept them up and over my calves throughout the day. Now I say they fit me perfectly.

These are good quality socks, but sports sock thickness, which is not great if your boots are pretty snug. So I can wear them with other types of boot but not with my cowboy boots.

I have used many brands of over the calf boot socks and most of them don't stay up after a few washes. I've had these Coolmax boot socks for several months now and they do stay up all day. The sole is padded and gives some cushioning when walking. I also have a padded insole in my boots so my feet are happy. The material wicks away moisture, so feet stay fairly dry. Very happy with them and plan to buy more.

Bought these with hopes of being thicker, and having more cushion in the toe and heel. However, they feel more like a light weight boot dress sock, but overall stay up well and are comfortable. If you need a thicker sock to absorb any loose fit, you may need to check out a different style. I am giving then 5 stars for quality and fit. It is too early to evaluate their life cycle, since I have only had them a couple of weeks..

decent thickness not so much that it makes me need to buy half a size larger. (if you wear a 10.5, with these socks you'll still fit your 10.5) great arch support as well as an interesting design that gives your foot a little more air circulation. Most importantly they do NOT sag down or slip. They sit above your calf and stay there. They are snug to put on so if you have a gut in the way, you'll realize it pretty quick as you are bent over trying to get it over your foot and calf; but once on they stay on. Good chance I'll buy more of them once I see how they handle multiple washing/wears.
