This wire cover works great and definitely will protect your pets - unless they chew it aggressively and chew through it (but that would take quite a bit). It's a bit of a challenge to install just because the slit (that runs the length of it) makes a tight fit. I found that by using some kind of tool (like a screwdriver or pen) to run the length of that slit at a 45 degree angle (to make sure it is not still joined along that slit and opens OK) makes it easier to put over the wire/cord. I would definitely recommend it.

The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because it was honestly hard to get them around the wire. Other than that, they have been amazing!
