Review: Inexpensive dice and dice bags - I purchased this set of 42 dice and 6 dice bags so that my kids would have some extra dice for D&D. Five of the six color combo sets look really nice with easily readable numbers. In fact, three of the sets we received (pink/white, blue/white, maroon/black) look even better than the ones shown in the official photo. Meanwhile, the red/green and blue/purple sets look about the same as the official photo. The only disappointing ones were the orange/yellow set which has a lighter shades of orange and yellow than the photo. Under our lighting, the white numbering on those is difficult to read against some of the lighter colored surfaces. It would have been better if they'd used a darker paint for the numbers on that set instead, and I might try painting the numbers on those black. I have not done any formal testing for balance, but based on several dozen rolls of each in a small dice tower, we didn't detect any obvious issues with them favoring certain numbers over others. They seem to roll high numbers as often as low numbers, 20's as often as 1's, etc. I only found 1 minor imperfection on the blue/white percentile die - the 0 on the 30 appears to be slightly malformed, but the number is still readable and it doesn't seem to affect its rolls. Since we rarely ever roll the percentile dice, this won't be a problem for us. The price is good for just the dice alone, but this deal also includes 6 black dice bags each with a different gold symbol. These bags look really sharp, and the drawstrings work very well to keep the bags held shut. Each bag is intended to hold one set of 7 dice, but can easily handle up to two sets of 7 dice if desired. Overall, I'd rate these dice at about 4 to 4.5 stars, and the dice bags as 5 stars, rounding up to 5 stars for the whole package. If you're looking to pick up a few extra inexpensive dice, these are definitely worth a look. Each set of 7 dice + a bag could make a great gift for a player just getting started in playing table-top RPGs. update - added picture
Review: Excellent set, looks even better in person - My kids are starting to game and they have an assortment of dice, but when I saw this I thought it would provide dice for their friends when playing, and they could each pick a set they liked for themselves. I wasn't really concerned about the bag (which some reviews have knocked) and the selection sounded good. The dice were an immediate hit. One picked the dark red set, dubbing it the "diablo dice" and the other picked the white set, calling it the "heaven dice". But the picking was difficult. "I've got it down to these two sets" said one, then later, "I've got it down to these two sets." When I pointed out that it had previously been narrowed down to two sets the reply was, "but these are two different sets." Gorgeous dice. Because other reviewers had picked on the dice bag I had no expectations there, but it is a nice dice bag. No, it isn't a $50 bag. No, it won't survive being used as a flail. But it has cavernous space and can comfortably hold seventeen of the sets. It looks nice and is reasonably well made. Naturally, the first thing we did (after dice selection) was get down to gaming. And, with the claims of "imbalanced" and "unfair" dice it should come as no surprise that a string of 1's were rolled on 1d20. Except, that player was using their prior dice set. I mean seriously, I've been gaming for forty years and I've learned that dice are random and gamers are superstitious. I've seen incredibly unlikely strings of rolls, but if you understand the statistics of rolling you know that such things aren't as uncommon as they may seem. (There are *many* of those "unlikely" strings -- game long enough and you will likely, though not certainly, see some -- heck, I've had a d6 land on a corner and sit there, stable. I don't even know how to calculate how unlikely that is.) But perhaps more to the point with respect to "fair" dice -- a long time ago I bought some "Character Builder" dice. It was a set of three six sided dice made of wood with a lead plug on the one's face. It is hard to conceive of a more unfair die. The impression when rolling them is that they always roll 6's, but I was curious and so rolled them a thousand times to get reasonable statistics. Two through five were slightly less common than 1:6 and the six was only about 2:6. The odds of rolling a 1 were still not that bad, around 1:12. And those dice were a hoot. They'd spin around the one face, flip back from rolling another face to land with six up, and so on. And that's all such a massively imbalanced die can achieve. These dice will not have a perfect distribution: no dice does. But you'd be hard pressed to measure it accurately and -- seriously -- they are for gaming. These dice are fine. They are very pretty. They are very reasonably priced. And you get a dice bag thrown in that can hold most of them.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are these dice balanced?**
A: Just put in my review, maybe it will help (re-pasted here):
1) Absolutely beautiful colors, and most sets are very easy contrast to read. Nice bag too.
2) Many are poorly balanced, but seriously... every hobby has elitist snobs. Please read before you decide for yourself.
I did the salt water test and picked one of the worst tested. For entertainment while watching TV or something similar one night, the GF and I did literally thousands of rolls and recorded in a spreadsheet what numbers came up. We used several D20s, as D20s are the most round and thus the most likely to roll heavy-side-down. (Not that it matters, but she's from Vegas, and both of her parents work tables at casinos. I just love testing things and spreadsheets with graphs.) My hypothesis, was that after enough rolls, that the clearly lightest face would emerge as the number that was rolled the most frequently, but the question was how frequent...? On the most tested D20 (1000+ rolls), the most common number rolled was only 1 face away from the one that usually came up in the salt water, the lightest face (remember, one of the worst balanced was the primary test). I tracked how many faces away from the lightest face each result was. But guess what...? The second most rolled face was the exact opposite side of the lightest, and several faces away from the most rolled. Meaning, the #2 most rolled was also the heaviest, meaning should have ended up down. It didn't. After more than a thousand rolls, there was still a large discrepancy between the most and least rolled, but no correlation to weight/center of gravity; literally none that could be discerned on the graphs. So, I checked stats on professional, hobby-elitist, and even casino dice. Even perfectly homogeneous in material, density, machine milled dice seem to do this when professionally tested, and over tens of thousands of rolls. (I'm sure someone that has a $159 die in a padded, armored case will correct me on something here...) These aren't rotors in Enigma machines or gyros in nuclear missiles. I'm painfully analytical sometimes (obviously), but the point of the game is the feel generated by playing the game, so if these are the look you like, just buy them. These dice are inexpensive, look flat-out awesome, and provide adequately random numbers for whatever game you're likely playing. If you want something more expensive, cool, but don't spend more simply based on fears that dice might somehow not act like dice. They will. I hope this helps!

**Q: Does each set of 7 dice come packaged separately?**
A: Yes, every set is individually wrapped in plastic.

**Q: Will I get a set of each of the colors pictured?**
A: Yes

**Q: On the included silk pouches, which creatures do the two least obvious blazons depict?**
A: They don’t look like anything specific, while the other four are a dragon, horse, eagle and bull. The bags are velveteen, not silk. They’re sharp-looking but a bit small and stiff.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The dice are nice
*by F***N on November 4, 2025*

This product came fast and as described. I received thirty sets of TTRPG dice in all the colors listed in the description. I paid 28$ plus tax for 30 sets of dice, and that was a great deal. All the sets came in individual baggies inside of a much larger bag. I like this because the sets are all together and I can present them to my players to open themselves when they come play games. Some of the colors are off, however that is to be expected as conveying colors is hard to do through a monitor since each is different and colors can be set however a user wants. Despite that, the colors are great and there is a wide enough variety that everyone can have their favorite color as a set of dice. The writing on the dice is clear and readable. The velvet bag is also as described, though I have yet to open up each set of dice individually to see if they all.
