## Description

Meta Quest Pro - 256GB - Advanced Virtual Reality Headset

Review: Are you sure you want THIS headset? Let me make sure you know what you're getting yourself into. - I would like to make these things very clear to you first. 1) Do not buy this headset if you don't understand VR headsets. 2) You want to buy this ONLY if you want face-tracking inbuilt and maybe also self-tracked controllers (you can also just get index controllers if you already have base stations). 3) You understand this headset is discontinued by Meta, meaning limited support and lots of bugs and issues from the moment you unbox it. If you simply want a VR headset, please buy the Quest 3 or 2 series. I have been using this for 2 months now here are the negatives: + Controllers drift after some time. This happens to literally everyone. I simply have to reset the controllers every now and then. + Dozens of people get their controllers or headsets bricked every month. Please check the subreddit r/questpro, it's a fairly active community that helps with Quest Pro related stuff. The VRCFT community also has a few Quest Pro users that can help with things. One tip a lot of people tell you is that you want to disable updates at the root android level as the gear only gets bricked during updates due to the way updates work. + The out-of-box ergonomics for your head are really bad. Almost every Quest Pro user will recommend buying the Globular Cluster kit as an addon, including me. This is probably one of the worst ergonomics I've seen on a VR headset. + Meta will typically reject your replacement/fix requests even if under warranty if you live in India. + The passthrough compared to the Quest 3 is horrible. You can't read text off a screen. You can see enough to make out your surroundings. + The microphone is worse compared to the Quest 3. An addon microphone will help as it's got an aux port on both sides. + Please look at the VRCFT "Quest Pro's dying facetracking problem" on their page. Yes, the face tracking will die. It's just a matter of time. Moisture completely kills the components, and sweat speeds up that process. Don't worry, you still have vive facetracking addons or project babble for this. + I customized my headset with globular cluster and my own luggage straps to build customized straps for my face. You cannot headbang or do stunts in this headset. You'd need to 3D print something yourself if you'd like to move your head a lot. + I have an issue where VirtualDesktop just disconnects every 30 minutes or so and I need to restart the headset to get back in. It's actually better now because when I first bought this 2 months ago, I used to have the same problem with steamlink where it would suddenly limit the bandwidth to 60mbps for no reason at all. I don't use steamlink anymore, but just for future reference, I want to make sure you know to restart the headset. The parts I like: + Facetracking works great. Not the best facetracking on the market, but it's the best headset with inbuilt facetracking. I'm satisfied. The eye and eyebrow tracking work flawlessly too. + The controllers have decent build quality. I would recommend not getting liquids on them. Otherwise you'd have to open up to clean out the sticky buttons, and when I did that for my Quest 3 I ended up messing up a capacitive sensor somehow. It's not impossible, just difficult. The tracking is decent enough, works great for when you put your hands behind your back without the need for base stations. + The colors look great when you have local dimming on as opposed to the Quest 3, but you're still dealing with a lower resolution. + Foveated streaming with VirtualDesktop will really help you with PCVR. The more you mod this headset, the better it will treat you. You're already spending a lot of money on janky hardware, might as well make it serve you well. And I already know you're either a VTuber or VRChat player. Please, do a lot of research before buying this and consider long-term options like project babble, psvr2, steam frame etc. Almost anything is better than the Quest Pro in multiple areas.
Review: PCVR Gaming is where this excels! Better than Reverb G2, HTC Vive Pro 2, Focus 3, Pico 4! - Price - It does cost a bit, but when you put it in perspective, it's priced about right; G2 Omnicept £1250, Varjo Aero ~£3000 (Including base stations, controllers, headphones, Import tax) HTC Focus 3 £1300 HTC Vive Pro 2 Kit £1300 Valve Index Kit £919 Most of the above are not standalone, and some don't have eye tracking and all the other sensors like the Quest Pro has. Resolution - This is where there is a lot of misconception! Quest 2 use a single panel, Quest Pro uses two panels that move with the lens stack, so you get MORE visible pixels, which increases the Pixels per degree, giving you better image quailty, and superb clarity, so overall you get a higher visible resolution. Lenses - This is truly next gen VR, edge to edge clarity, no god rays. being able to look any direction with your eyes and have clear clarity is something Fresnel lenses can't do. These are the best Lenese on any HMD right now. SDE - If you look for it, you can see it, more so on white back grounds. but this is nothing like the Rift S, Valve Index. Fresnel lenses did a good job hiding it with the Quest 2, but with the clarity of the Pancake lenses, it has made it more pronounced. That said, playing PCVR games, you won't notice it. PCVR - I've owned many headsets over the years from the CV1, Samsung, Revrb G1, G2 v1, Quest 2, Pico 4. I have to say, out of all those HMD's, the Quest Pro is a massive step up in clarity. Even people with HTC Vive Pro 2 and Focus 3 and Varjo Aero have came forward in a forum I use, and have stated how resolution is not everything, and how they are blown away with the clarity of the Quest pro. It is truly awesome, especally when we crank the settings up. Turning the render resolution up to 1.7x, using Oculus Debug Tool, and setting encode width to 3616, and bit rate to 500Mbps, really makes the Quest Pro shine by hiding compression, and giving objects in the distance a sharper clarity, making it easier to read marker boards in the likes of sim racing etc. Now as I own a 4090, these setting are playable at 90FPS and high settings in the likes of DCS. ACC Epic VR, which just look incredible! MSFS Ultra settings plus 1.7x render resolution plays at a solid 45FPS with ASW, and is also incredible how that looks and feels. Controllers - Well lets just make it clear, as good as the CV1 Touch controllers, and Valve Index controllers at tracking, with a premium feel and great haptics. Comfort - Is hit and miss depending on your head shape. It is well balanced, and fits my head nicely. FOV - I have a IPD of 67mm using the FOV app, I see 104 degrees, push my eyes closer, and I get 106. Conclusion - After many hours with this HMD, I am keeping it as my go to PCVR HMD, it truly is a next gen experience. I have Videos through the lenses of the Quest Pro with on my YouTube Channel playing PCVR maxed settings, with a 4090, just search user TG Pips.
