This then consumes all the "bad" things out of the water, and causes the nuisance algae in your aquarium or pond to start disappearing. The SURF8x does this because it give algae the best conditions to grow inside the filter: Strong light, strong flow, and strong attachment points in two separate growth compartments. This lets the seaweed grab hold inside the filter, and in doing so this algae consumes the ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate, and CO2 out of the aquarium or pond water so that your nuisance algae won't have what it needs to grow. And since the tops (the LED lids) of the SURF8x lift right up, you can just reach in and remove the growth without having to turn any pumps off. And you can use the growth to feed your fish and snails, or as skin wraps, or as fertilizer or seaweed salads. The SURF8x requires a high-volume air pump such as the Hailea ACO-9720 (25 watts) available here: https://pentairaes.com/outdoor-air-pumps.html Also required is a timer or controller for the LED lights. The LED lights are isolated from the power cord, and are triple-sealed against corrosion. The SURF8x is designed for this much feeding per day: 8 Frozen cube, or 80 Pinches of flake, or 80 Square inches (500 square cm) of nori, or 22 grams of pellets, and it grows up to 8 small handfuls of angel hair seaweed per week. The physical size or number of gallons or liters of water in your tank or sump does not matter. If you feed more than the above amounts, you can get multiple SURF8x units, or our HOG or DROP or RAIN scrubbers. 1 year warranty.
