Best litter ever, everything I've wishedfor
This is a true and honest review, i want the reader to know that because you might doubt, but Im sincere. I LOVE love love this stuff! It does not track!! No perfume, No dust clouds, perfect odor control, clumps well without that clay stickiness, stays clean, looks like dirt, lasts longer than tidy cats. i like that in the landfill it'll break down better than clay, and that it's delivered bagged, not in plastic jug that fills landfills. No scrubbing litter box to clean it!! No soaking or chipping away at hardened clay, just wipe sides of box and rinse! Amazing. Downsides: it's different to scoop because it's dense and doesn't sift through my scoop basket like Tidy Cats, also, because it's dense and dark I find it a little difficult to spot the leavings and any little crumbs unless I have bright light; so, it takes more time to scoop. I add baking soda because the organic nature has a natural earthy smell that I don't like, doubt I'd notice it in a different room. Note: This doesn't mix well with tidy cats. To switch your cat to this, set up another box with only this, after your cats get used to it replace the clay litter with this. It took a month for my cats. I tried all of the unscented formulas, for the hardest clumps I use Quick clumping.

Best choice.
This is the only cat litter we use in our home. I am giving it 5 stars b/c the pro far out weight the cons. Pros: Odor control is amazing. We clean our cat boxes regularly but lets be honest life happens and sometimes it goes an extra day or so. There is no funky smell in the house. It clumps and holds. It's easy to scoop, and things don't break apart. It's organic and unscented. If you own cats you know they can be way more sensitive to certain smells and chemicals. This litter removes all that worry. And perfume doesn't mix well with cat urine. It's affordable. It lasts. With daily cleanings you get a lot of use. Cons: It can be dusty. It's cat litter though, I feel a degree of dust should be expected. It does not track or stain but it is very fine, so I feel it's easy for cats to kick out of the box. A litter mat and vacuum takes care of it. It's made from walnut shells, I would assume that could be an issue for people with severe allergies. For the value, ease of use, and non toxic qualities, I feel this is a very safe, clean and economical choice for cat owners.

Great clumping and the best for urine odor.
Iโve tried every other type of litter imaginable, and I always come back to this type and this brand. The best for urine odor of any type of litter. Poop smell can be a little stronger than other types, but at least itโs removed easily. Clumps very well and is much better for a catsโs digestive system because they do actually ingest litter by licking and cleaning themselves. As with most litters any station must be covered! It is still a little dusty, but then again they all are no matter what they say. Other litters are getting on surfaces in your home that are close by they just donโt show! Works great and I will always buy this brand.

Good overall, a few drawbacks
Short version: Natural is cool. Absorbency good. Scent low. Odor control ok. Fairly low dust. Rough texture. Less messy than clay types. Long version: Great absorbency without cementing to my cats feet is nice. Scoops just fine (occasionally a but of breakage but minor and infrequent) Smell is way better than the clay and overly scented types. Doesn't eliminate odors as well for as long as other types like clay. It's great at first but gets kind of stale smelling after a week or two (depending on how quickly and frequently you scoop) requiring more frequent full box changes. It's also quite poky! It seems much rougher than the clay types. But... again, this doesn't sement to my cats paws so... Low dust! It is a bit dusty when you are first dumping it in, but it is not nearly as bad as clay or dust types! It also seems to settle faster. And once it's in it doesn't seem overly dusty. It will accumulate (especially with messy cats) after a littlw while on textured walls, baseboards, etc but still not as bad as dust type, and you can at least see this better as it's a dark dust. So I guess that's something haha.

Everything about this is amazing!
I was using the Arm and Hammer 99% and/or 100% dust free litter, it was pretty good really, so I am comparing this to a very high standard litter. This walnut litter is actually way superior, I am so surprised. First it is non toxic which was one of my reasons for trying it. But it also just performs SO well. There is literally ZERO odor with this. I always noticed a bit of lingering odor with the Arm&Hammer. And the room it was in would always have some ick smell from it, even though I am extremely diligent about keeping the litter clean. I literally scoop every time the cat goes and change litter and waste can regularly. Anyway, the absorbency and clumping with walnut is perfect, it really seals everything up into an easy to scoopable block. There's very little dust and at least you know it's just walnut and not anything toxic. It's also a lot lighter to scoop than the dust free Arm&Hammer which is very heavy like coarse sand (don't get me wrong, Arm&Hammer is still a very good litter) but I now like this way better. I also feel like it is going to last longer, it fills the tray better because it's not like sand which is densely packed. I never thought I could LOVE a Litter, but I actually do, this stuff is wonderful. The odor free aspect is the very best thing! Very happy, it's the only litter I ever want to buy now. I learned about it when I had to board my cat and the lady at the cat boarding hotel was using it and it was very notable with all those cats in one space, no smells with all the many litter boxes around.

Hands down the best litter I've used.
I've tried about every type of litter on the market with 2 things in mind: how well it controls odor and how environmentally friendly it is. This hit the spot on both points, from my understanding this litter is made using food waste meaning theres no toxic mining, questionable chemicals or big environmental impact. I use this in my litter robot and it works great, absorbs urine and clumps well for each scooping or shifting, the only issues I have from time to time is that it will sometimes cake onto the bottom but that also happened with most other types of litter too. It still tracks but no worse than any other litter. It does a pretty good job with odor control, I do add arm & hammer scent crystals which also helps. 1 large bag of this usually lasts atleast 2-3 months with my 2 cats. The only other litter I even feel comfortable using anymore is corn cob and while it's usually a but cheaper than walnut shell this definitely works a bit better.

Finally! A Litter that Exceeds My Expectations!
I am so, so happy that I took a chance and tried this litter! I absolutely love this, and my picky kitty took to it right away. I have two litter boxes, so at first tried this half and half with our other litter that is corn based. I do like that litter and Kitty does too, but I wanted to see if there was anything a bit better for odor control. I looked at a ton of options and was intrigued about this one. First off, the only odor is a pleasant kind of woodsy natural scent. The granules are comfortable in my hand, so is comfortable for kitty's feet. I like the dark color too-- it reminds me of the black sand beaches in Hawaii. Once I had introduced it by combining the two litters without issue, I put the Naturally Fresh cat litter in one box in my laundry room and kept the one with the original corn litter in the bedroom ensuite just in case Kitty decided against this new variety. I usually clean the boxes daily and when my nose tells me a stink bomb is present and needs to be removed. The one in the bathroom was consistently used, and after two weeks I had to completely change out the litter. I wasn't really checking the other box because there was no odor, which I would have noticed since I'd been doing laundry every other day. I actually thought Kitty hadn't been using that box with the Naturally Fresh walnut litter. I decided I should clean out that box and was going to replace all the litter with the original brand, and to my surprise Kitty HAD been using that box, which was actually quite full-- but still no odor! That was an awesome surprise! So, I just scooped out the box and refreshed it with the Naturally Fresh. Once all the corn litter is gone, I'll use this litter exclusively. I'm thrilled at how well it handles odors, and I'm giving it bonus points for it being flushable! I plan to get automatic litter boxes sometime soon, so I'll be interested to see how this does with the new boxes I get. I'm looking at the PETKIT, PETSNOWY, Popur and Catlink automatic self cleaning boxes-- I'm getting a new kitten this week so want to make life a bit easier. I've had back surgery, so having to clean litter boxes a minimum of twice daily isn't ideal for me. I'll review the new boxes after a fair trial period so others can make informed choices too.

I apologize I thought I was reviewing this company, but a different formula.
UPDATE: I do not like the quick clumping litter. It is not like their other formulas at all! I apologize if my prior review misled anyone, and if I did, I want to set the record straight hence the reasons for this update. To be clear, Iโve used 2 other formulas from this company, and I love each of them. BUT not this one! I donโt know what it is about the quick formula b/c it does not clump well or hold the clumps together at all. However, the outer control is still wonderful. You cannot tell I have a kitten in my home at all. To be sure, I wonโt be buying this formula again, but I will stick with the brand. I donโt know if I can get a refund or an exchange for one of the formulas I used before buying this particular bag, but I sure as heck would appreciate a refund or a replacement. Iโve read good reviews and bad reviews. But honestly I wonder if that was join the bad reviews are either doing it just to go against the company or I wonder if they donโt clean the box out regularly and also they probably have plastic litter boxes that absorb smells. And I love this litter thereโs no poo or urine smell. Itโs clumping is wonderful. My kitty has no problem using it. once again, I donโt understand the negative reviews. Donโt believe theyโre factual. I bought this liquor up our recommendation from my neighbor who has five cats. Walking in there. You would never guess. She has even one cat. My home guess not smell it all like a little box. I attribute it to this litter, which is awesome. Itโs a little more expensive, but it lasts longer and because thereโs no disgusting cat smell. Itโs worth itโs weight in gold. So I HIGHLY recommend you buy this litter also, the stainless litter box. Youโll be amazed at the difference and youโll love it! I also recommend that you had two litter boxes if you have one cat if you have two cats have three litter boxes. Thatโs the best way to keep the kitties going potty in the litter box like theyโre supposed to and not around the house.

NEVER going back to clay litter!
I could never find a clay litter brand that prevented smell, didn't make nasty clouds of dust when I cleaned it, and didn't leave little clay streaks when my cat tracked it around -- but this litter is better than I ever could have hoped. I tell every cat owner I meet to try this stuff. I introduced it by filling a cheap backup litterbox, which I set next to the clay litterbox. My cat loved this walnut litter's sand-like texture and preferred this one right away. - Even when it is full, it smells nutty and not gross - Some minor tracking (can't be fully prevented) but it's not as bad as other litters we've tried - Good value for the amount you get - PLUS this is better for the planet and your/your cat's respiratory health! - Clumps well (sometimes clumps are not as hard as clay litter) - Sometimes my cat's white paws are a little brown right after she uses it but it goes away fast lol

Excellent
I've used this almost a week and here is what I can summarize. Pros: I've seen some comments which discuss the smell. Personally I much prefer this to conventional litter, I find it odorless and not dusty both of which are great. Compostable is another pro. Clumps well, and is easy enough to clean. My senior cat didn't find it to be an adjustment at all, she used it right away. I was a but concerned about this. Cons: it does fly quite a bit, so more regular sweeping/vacuuming is required. The dark colour doesn't let you know how dirty the litter is. You really need to dig around. Overall, I love the product. It's worth the extra sweeping. I'm not 100% convinced that it'll last 3x longer than conventional litter - But I'm really pleased with the experience so far & will be buying again the next time I need litter.

the only litter i will use
I LOVE THIS LITTER. It truly keeps all smells at bay. Coming into my small apartment, you would never know a cat was here (if you didn't spot her at least lol).

Good litter but buyer beware lol
Love how this clumps without the nasty smell you get from clay litter. Both my cats use this litter without issues and it vacuums up really well (tile and laminate floors). Down side.. this litter gets EVERYWHERE in the house. Places I didn't even think the cats went - litter. It's really light weight when it hasn't gotten to the point of clumping so it goes wherever the cats ever think about going. I've been using silica for so long I forgot about the issues other litter can cause. Clogged my drain cleaning the litter box out (my own fault but haven't had this issue with other kinds) even though I had the drain plug in - 0/10 experience. Much harder to clean the box compared to silica. I'll probably get it again as it's January and I've had this since October or November so even though it expensive, its well worth it given the time it lasts.

No mess!
This is the best litter I have ever purchased (and I've had cats for decades). It clumps just as well as the clumping cat litter I've purchased in grocery or pet stores, but there is no white powder on the sides of the litter box, & neither you or your cat will breathe in any powdery stuff. It is heavier than the typical clumping litter or newsprint litter so does not fly out of the litter box like other types. It is walnut shells, so you can put it in your organic disposal. I will only be purchasing this one from now on....
