She sometimes has to be treated with antibiotics when it gets worse. I have found that since I began giving her one of these daily, she seems to be having issues less frequently. I purchased the Sherwood Urinary Support treats as well because they had good reviews, but she (and all 8 of my other guinea pigs) snubbed them and would not even entertain the idea of eating them, so they were obviously useless for us. She has been consuming these for about two months or so and still takes them excitedly. I was initially afraid she would lose interest in them, but so far, she still comes running when she seems me pull out the bag. Occasionally I will give my other piggies one of these as well, but I primarily use these as her special treats (on a daily basis). I did run out of them at one point for a few days and I noticed that her bladder health drastically declined during those days (and she had to see the vet again) so now I make sure I have an extra pack on hand at all times. I would definitely recommend trying these out, especially if you have piggies prone to calcium buildup and bladder sludge. I think these seem to work best with regular use, not just to use sporadically. Review: Awesome! - These are great for our Guinea pigs! One has a bilirubin problem that made his urine very dark. We took him to a pocket pet "specialist" twice with no positive results (also it was very expensive). A couple who runs a Guinea pig rescue recommended these and they have helped him more than we could have ever hoped for! Too bad we didn't talk to the couple at the rescue before we went to the "specialist". But we are never without these and both our piggies love them and think they're treats.
