I chose this lamp over other "kid's" lamps with timers mainly because this one dims over the last 10 minutes of your selected time increment vs. other lamps that simply shut off after X minutes. (Note that 30 minutes is the smallest increment for this lamp when the timer is being used).My only complaint is a usability issue - when selecting the timer function, the led indicator does not stay illuminated on the selection after setting it. With everything going on at bedtime, I tend to forget whether or not I set the timer function. I frequently get migraines and my eyes become super sensitive for two or three days. It's nice that I can dim this lamp to the point that it doesn't hurt my eyes. I also like the fade to sleep feature, which is subtle enough that I don't notice it until it's almost dark. The colors are a little too garish for me, although the lavender is tolerable.Unfortunately I have problems getting the lamp to switch colors or dimness. I have Reynaud's secondary to lupus, which affects the circulation in my hands. My son thinks that's what is causing the problem; that the lamp can't tell I'm touching it when my circulation is bad. It has a touch feature to turn on/ off, can switch to multiple colors, and has a timer function (although a little difficult to use the first time). I love the timer and the touch feature. The white light color is dimmable. It can also be hanged and is chargeable, battery operated, or connected via USB cord.
