Rackit's Filler Panels are used to close off unused sections of a rack. Rackit's Filler Panels cover and fill gaps or (extra) free rack-mount spaces in racks or enclosures. The use of Rackit filler panels is designed to achieve a number of objectives in a rack-installation: Cooling – Rackit's filler panels improve overall airflow within an enclosed rack. By filling up blank spaces between installed equipment in an enclosed rack, Rackit's filler panels are a cost-effective way to ensure that individual mounted devices do not recycle exhaust air. Installing Rackit's filler panels to close off unused sections of a rack helps creating a cohesive air-conduit within an enclosed rack, thus helping control air flow created by cooling devices an exhaust fans. Aesthetics – Rackit's filler panels are ideal for providing a clean finished look to a rack-installation. By filling up blank spaces between installed equipment in the rack, Rackit's filler panels provide for a cleaner and more organized appearance. Filler panels help create an attractive installation while eliminating dust from gathering on installed equipment. Extra Strength – Rackit's filler panels add strength to the rack, more so to a knock-down racks (such as Servit) and 2-post racks. Some racks can experience more than twice the strength and ruggedness by simply installing filler panels at regular intervals. We recommend installing either a component or filler panels at least every 8U spaces (17.5") for racks over 12U. Constructed of 14-gauge cold rolled steel, Rackit's Brush Filler Panels incorporate a brush-grommet opening that allows branching cables into and out of the rack while still maintaining the rack's thermal integrity.
