You would need a transformer to step it down to 12 - 24. I use this with 24V DC and haven't had any issues, but I imagine 110V AC would immediately fry it. **Q: are these submersible?** A: Hi, No, these can not work in water!! In the rain is fine. **Q: so if i wired 3-4 of these to an extension cord, and plugged them into a generator, they would just burn up? wanting to use them on my bowfishing boat** A: Do not run on generators voltage not consistent. **Q: How far will the light reach? I need one that will reach 100-150 feet when i park my trailer.** A: I call it "The Bear Illuminator!" I have the 30W Warm White model that I wired with a 2.1mm standard plug into a project box with a 433Mghz remote relay. That plugs into a 12v plug in my tow vehicle or, depending on campsite layout, a plug in the trailer. I can turn it on or of at will using a key fob. My wife says that when it comes on in a National Forest campground she can can see her way back from blocks away around the loop. It lights up the forest. I'm not guaranteeing these results, but we haven't seen a bear since I brought it along. Note: the fixture bracklet lends itself to using a shortened HF cheap magnetic strip to give the light magnetic staying power on the roof of the tow vehicle or, as I often do, attaching it to the campsite steel bearproof storage box. They come on at dusk and they go off in the morning. One of the two lights just stopped working after only a month or two. You can see from the picture that the light on the right side is now very dim. I am now less impressed with these. I think they are probably driving them too hard to get extra brightness out of them causing the lights to burn out These are pretty bright.
