It is very viscous so it will increase distance between CPU and heatsink and you will not get good results. **Q: Would this work for safety?** A: Not sure what you mean by "work for safety" so I'll just assume you meant "is it safe to use? " or "does it work?" The answer is yes and yes, it is not electrically conductive and it is meant to be used as a thermalpad/goop replacement (it is not intended gor CPUs, If you use this on a cpu it will thermal throttle and can damage the cpu). I used this on an Asus ROG gl751 when I replaced the motherboard, had to use this because Asus uses thermal goop instead of pads and this worked fine on the power delivery components. **Q: How much should you actually apply for a laptop? There video shows them just globing it on? Ive used it once but think i used to much.** A: My understanding you want to use enough for it fill in the gaps or basically kinda like when you make a jelly/ peanut butter sandwich and when pressed the stuff together and it spreads means you put enough.
