You simply load the zucchini on the post, lock the size grater you want, and twist the handle. Even my fiance was impressed. Cleaning isn't too bad, but there are lots of little parts that need to be cleaned--good news--they even included a convenient to help the process. I would recommend. I loved the perks of this product: the various cutting attachments, especially the cleaning brush, and the food tray as you spiralize your veggies. My only hang up is that this device does not utilize the entire food. There is always a portion left over that I end up manually chopping so it can be cooked too (sometimes it's two pieces left over- if I have to cut the veggie because it is too long for the device). Overall, I am pleased with my purchase.
