They do not fit an A3 flatbed scanner but are overall smaller than the size of an A3 page...** A: Not being aware of the A3 size it would have been helpful to know the dimensions you are referencing. That said It should be able to but there is a max memory/time to complete scanning and once filled with data during the scan the unit displays the data for editing. So a moving the mouse at a fairly quick sweep (the scan will turn a red frame around the optical coverage if moving too quickly) while maintaining a green/yellow outline. Have had to rescan a number of times for some photos because of a time out and memory full. Never inquired if there is some way to increase the memory buffer. Most of my scans are 8-1/2 x 11 pages. **Q: Does it scan photos?** A: I have not tried scanning photos. I will give it a try and let you know next week. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic! *by J***S on 26 August 2013* This product is fantastic and I wish I had bought it sooner.Forget all the talk of a large mouse, cable problems etc if you have items, especially large ones, that you can't (or shouldn't) up-end in a scanner then this product is ideal. If you want to copy material out of the home or office this mouse, along with a laptop can be used out and about.I copy local history material, sometimes up in attics, other people's houses etc so now instead of trying to photograph them I can use this mouse scanner.I am not technically minded but with the directions, the sales video I was using the mouse within minutes and had scanned a dozen items immediately. Just roll the mouse over the page, or whatever you are copying, and it scans it!!Yes you just have to get used to moving the mouse to capture all the material you want but I am ancient and remember copying meant three sheets of carbon paper in a typewriter so perhaps I am more grateful for this mouse than if I were younger and had more expectations. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Generally a good product .... *by J***N on 19 October 2013* There are mixed reviews of this product which possibly revolve around the issue of 'video memory' . If ,like me , your computer has limited video memory then this product flashes up a warning that you are running it on less than recommended video memory . I went ahead and tried it anyway and was , at first , disappointed as others have been . I could not get it to easily copy an image to my satisfaction ; however then I found that if you set the 'settings' to 'low scan quality' and 'low quality jpg' , the software becomes a lot more smooth and efficient ( probably because less video memory is required ) . There are also in-between ( medium ) settings that some might find preferable . Anyway , its worth experimenting with the settings to avoid disappointment . Now that I've got it working I'm fairly pleased with the results ; a little practice also helps . ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Scans like magic *by M***N on 23 January 2013* Gently sweep the mouse across the page and the image underneath appears instantly on your monitor. There is some pixie software that uses reference points to straighten out any little kinks, it works really well on detailed images. The mouse functionality gets in the way a bit (accidentally pressing buttons), and I wouldn't want to use it as a mouse in case I damage/dirty the image capture screen. So I use it as a scanner for large antique books and it is great for a page at a time. Double pages with a fold in the middle are too tricky though (but I get as close to the edge as possible turning one page upside down and use Photoshop to stitch them together). It really feels like magic it scans so well. Better than using a camera as there is no perspective distortion.
