Getting to know the MakerHawk USB Multimeter
My experience with the MakerHawk USB Multimeter can be summed up in one phrase: "works well after I figured out how to use it." When I first unboxed it, I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of information on the screen and the various buttons. There wasn't a clear, intuitive path to simply measure voltage and current right away, and I felt like I was fumbling through the settings. It definitely required me to sit down, read the instructions, and look up a few videos to understand its full functionality. Once I got the hang of it, however, the device proved to be incredibly useful and accurate. It's a powerful tool for anyone working with USB devices and power delivery. I've used it to test cables, monitor charging speeds on my phone, and troubleshoot power issues with small electronics projects. The ability to see real-time data on voltage, current, power, and even the total energy consumed is invaluable. The screen is bright and easy to read, and the rotating display feature is a nice touch. Despite the initial learning curve, I can now confidently say that the MakerHawk USB Multimeter is an excellent piece of equipment. It's a reliable, feature-rich tool that provides the data you need to ensure your USB devices are functioning correctly. The frustration of the initial setup has been completely replaced by the satisfaction of having a powerful tool in my kit.

Can't beat this on cost, very nice!
For the cost you really can't beat this. Detects fast charging, there are graphs for volts and current, also I like the idea that you can group results. There are 10 groups that you can use.

Works great!
Got this for testing all my power banks, charging cords, and adapters. Love it, wish the USB-C was a built-in output, but I understand this gives much more flexibility. Love the little tin it comes with!

This is sweet. Five stars.
This is one of my favorite purchases from Amazon in a while. I didn't realize how much I needed it until I had it. I was able to go through all my cables and purge the ones that had some bad internal connections, was also able to check on some USB power banks, and also test each of my USB wall blocks. It's amazing how much you learn in a short time about your different chargers and cables and how different they can be. Some wall blocks put out too much voltage (which is why I bought this tester, because I had a brand new wall block fry a security camera by putting out too much voltage), and it's also fascinating that some cables seem to intentionally provide imline voltage control even one paired with a wall block that is putting out too much juice. The device itself is really easy to use and has lots of intuitive features. This was money very well spent for me and although I'll probably never use it as much as I did in the first 24 hours, it's a handy thing to have around because it's hard to test USB stuff with a regular meter. Mostly it's just cool as all get out.

Great tool
Really impressed with the MakerHawk USB Multimeter USB Voltmeter Ammeter. It’s super easy to use and gives accurate readings for voltage, current, and power consumption. The display is clear and bright, making it easy to monitor devices while charging or testing USB ports. Great little tool for troubleshooting cables, chargers, and power banks. Feels solid for the price and works exactly as expected. Definitely worth buying if you work with electronics or just want to keep an eye on your charging setup.

CHEAP PARTS = BAD QUALITY & FAULTY PRODUCTS
I use solar panels to charge battery packs and other devices when backpacking/camping. This meter was supposed to help me determine if my equipment was performing at optimal levels, at home and on the trail. The meter came in a tin box that had no hermetically sealed wrapping and no secured retail packaging. I found it very odd that the manufacturer did not do a better job of securing their product. After opening the tin box, I saw nothing that looked strange or out of place. Unfortunately, as seen in the pic, when I plugged the meter into one of my battery packs, I immediately saw that the digital display was damaged. After seeing the damage, I decided to take a closer look at the meter and that's when I discovered a significant design flaw. While viewing the pics on Amazon's web page, it looks as though the manufacturer used a thin layer of plate glass to cover/protect the digital display, but to my surprise, the manufacturer used some sort of semi-flexible, clear polymer resin material. As a test on the damaged meter, while using only the lightest finger touch, I noticed that the polymer cover slightly depressed in the direction of the digital display. After seeing the polymer cover flex, I now believe that if enough force is applied (and it probably wouldn't take much), the cover could actually touch the digital display and damage/destroy it. Would it really have cost so much more for the manufacturer to use plate glass as a cover/protector, rather than going with ultra-cheap plastic? Did the damage happen at the manufacturer? Did it happen in transit? At Amazon? Since the tin box was not sealed by the manufacturer, there's really no way to know when and where the damage occurred. What I do know is this: If this meter can't survive the trip from the factory to my home, what are the chances of it surviving your average backpacking/camping trip? Without adding a bulky and heavy container to my gear, I'd say the odds are ZERO. I really wanted this meter to work because I liked the idea of the large display. Fortunately, Amazon refunded my purchase price, so it's back to Amazon to find another meter that is more robust and isn't going to break before I even get a chance to use it. If I could, I would have given NO stars. CHEAP PARTS = BAD QUALITY & FAULTY PRODUCTS

Nice Device for checking USB power flow. Unfortunately USB-C doesn't seem to work.
Nice easy to use Device for checking how much power is flowing on various USB supplies and devices to be charged. Great for this.... Unfortunately USB-C doesn't seem to work and doesn't enable flow through USB-C or even power the device as the other formats do. Unfortunately also the QR code doesn't lead to the right instruction manual. Apart from USB-C and the instructions not being available, it would have got a 5 star.
