The Sword’s basket hilt is made of blued steel with a wood grip covered in ray skin and wrapped in wire. Finally, the Broadsword is safely housed in a wood and leather scabbard with a blued steel chapel and throat. Review: Aye, Tis a Fine Blade - Excellent quality and design. Grip is nice and comfortable. It’s a bit on heavy side. All in all good value. Didn’t like the red so I customized it with my Scottish Clan Keith Tartan colors. And got a shoulder sword frog for it since it’s heavy on the belt, the sword disarm loops on body facing side pushes into torso though, may need to bend it away from body or remove it. Review: Beautifully crafted - This sword is beautifully made and sturdy, as one expects from Cold Steel. I did remove the annoying tassels and basket liner (I'll replace with a soft green leather half-liner). Also, be aware that "Cold Steel" is stamped on the locket of the scabbard and the inside of the basket, but this doesn't really detract from the sword's overall appearance. The blade came slightly sharp and could easily be made deadly, but I'll dull the blade as I've no intention of cutting anything with this.
