Instead, You can take 1 cup of water, 1 teaspoon loose leaf black tea (red label or taj Mahal brand) and combine in a pot. Crush 2 cardamom pods, 2 cloves, 1-inch stick of cinammon and put that into the water as well. Then take a 1/2 to 1 inch piece of ginger , peel and grate that into the pot. Heat until boiling, once it boils put in 1 1/2 cups of milk. Let it come to a boil and reduce flame to low, simmer for about 5 minutes. This is exactly what I would serve you in my house . If your looking for more of a "masala" flavor then you can buy "chai masala" not garam masala. Chai masala and all the other ingredients I listed can be found at your local Indian grocer. Just type " Indian grocery near me" into Google.
