Review: Great read that I would highly recommend! - Mary Abbajay hit a home run with this book. It is timely and something that even after being in the workforce for 20 years I can use today. The book is written in a format that is easy to read and shows just how much passion she has in each line. Each chapter covers new material and gives actionable steps to take to make you happier at work. Managing Up isn’t about “waiting for the unicorn, it’s about succeeding with the boss you actually have.” Really helped me take personal accountability by starting to improve my relationship and determining my long-term career trajectory. Great read that I would highly recommend!
Review: Solid Management Book - I enjoyed this book and appreciated the specific case studies and action plans. I made it my leadership development book for the year. My boss isn't terrible. Although I'm new to working with a remote leader. I adopted a version of the update email and it's improved my working relationship with my remote boss and helped me stay accountable to my goals.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A must book

Managing up/Mary Abbajay Maybe I was wrong when I turned to reading travel books. I didn't get answers to my questions in them, most of the heroes traveled, walked, searched. Few of them found answers to the questions they had at the beginning of the journey or solutions to the problems that caused them to embark on it. In a journey book, who should be satisfied with the answers: the hero or the reader? Managing up (hereinafter: "Man Up"), is not a travel book, it is a book that deals with organizational culture, with our behavior as people in the organization. How can we be better workers? Not managers, employees and why should we improve. The author of the book presents at the beginning her answer to the question of whether man is basically good or bad. A beautiful and logical answer from which it goes to remove objections to change. Man Up is not satisfied with describing types of managers and what they need, he understands me, the reader and the effort required of me to adapt myself to my manager. And so I found myself in a journey book that I didn't plan to embark on: my guarding of who I am in front of the person and the needs of the person standing in front of me. Equally the manager can be a co-worker, a friend, a relative, a family member, someone with whom one has a relationship. It's been a long time since I've read a book that points out my failures in a row. You were wrong here, and what did you do there? Whole pages that while reading I discovered how many mistakes I made, mistakes that some of them can be corrected and those that are already too late. Cases I could have handled differently and wisely if I knew how. A book about past, present and future. Our ability to forgive ourselves, keep who we are and move forward by choice, knowing that work will be required of us. A book that the saleswoman at the bookstore wouldn't present as awareness or personal growth, even though that's exactly what it does. have fun
