These traps are so inexpensive one can throw them away with captured vermin if you don’t particularly care to clean the trap to reuse. (Very reusable) Four issues to be aware of (not defects) 1. These traps are very powerful, you MUST bait them with the trap closed per instructions, or risk serious injury to your hand. I think a triggered trap could easily break a finger or worse. They are designed to kill the critter instantly with a crushing snap-action. 2. Sometimes, but rarely, the trap will capture a critter by its paw or tail, and the critter will chew off the affected appendage. It’s a grisly sight. Of the 15+ critters caught this far, two had this issue. Most die instantly. 3. Do not put these traps near bird feeders or any pet-traveled area.
