Perfect strips every time
Perfect strips every time, fast and easy to use. I've been building my own wire harnesses for a couple cars I'm building, and this thing has been a life saver. Between this, my Ancor ratchet crimper, some high quality nylon insulated wire terminals, and a basic wire cutter, everything has functioned flawlessly. Not a single bad connection yet. All of my external wiring (engine bay, outside lights, etc) have also received shrink wrap.

Stripping pleasure.
Oh IDEAL 45-092 Stripmaster, where have you been all my life? I do home theater installations for friends and family and decided to get myself a new toy to make things go more quickly. Boy is this this fantastic! As others have observed, low reviews on other models are likely from user error (or defective product, sure). One thing I have observed: Monster Cable XP cable (and possibly some others) are dual-sheathed. If you cut with the rated AWG stranded gauge and the inner sheath is still on it, use the next lowest down and it should remove it without taking any strands. Worked fine for me.

Best wire strippers I've ever used
Amazing, smooth as butter, and never cuts the copper. Only bad thing is that stripping too long a length sometimes results in the head coming down on top of the wire sometimes and baking them up. This could result in messed up strands of wire, so be careful. Obviously not much of a problem with solid core wire.

Good tool, works well
Works great and feels robust - still not sure if it's American made or not though, as it's not marked on the tool or the box as such. I had read that Ideal still produces tools made in the USA - maybe this isn't one of them(?) Only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars.

Best strippers out there
I am a panel builder and this is the stripper of choice. Very accurate at stripping and leaves all the copper undamaged unlike some strippers I have seen. Very easy to use and last for years even in my work where they are used everyday.
