I wrote this review after about a month of use. My OEM sticks have not drifted yet but I want peace in mind so I bought and install these. The installation process went smoothly, but calibration is a pain. However, after managed to calibrate it, it feels great. The sticks feel exactly like OEM and I can set deadzone all the way to the lowest. Square gate is a non-issue for me since I don't play competitive games so this feels like an upgrade for future proofing my Deck. I also tested the sensors with magnet and they're true Hall effect sticks, not potentiometer branding as Hall effect, since the magnet screwed up the input as you can see in the video, which is as intended.

Super easy installation and great quality. I bought these out of necessity from accidental damage to my deck but I am very pleased with these. They're an upgrade to the original hardware that works perfectly with the steam deck oled. Pair these with a simple ifixit kit and you've got an incredibly easy (14 screw) upgrade to you're steam deck.

Installing them is easy, they are fiddly to calibrate the little button is hard to press. Make sure you move the little cable when installing them otherwise it can catch and make noise. You also need to go into desktop mode and calibrate them there too using the console command thumbstick_cal Got my dead zones down to about 3400 couldn't get them fully centre but I think that's coz I didn't take loads of time to get them perfect

Works well, but they do require some fiddling to get them working correctly. Unfortunately, I can't remember if the instructions are either missing or incomplete, but I had to look online to get them calibrated correctly, as simply using the built in calibration buttons was not enough, as not only did I have to press the calibration button on the joysticks themselves, I also had to start up in desktop mode and run the the standard calibration through the terminal. Once that was done, they were nicely calibrated and showed extremely low drift. To run the standard calibration, Google "iFixit Calibrate Steam Deck Thumbsticks".

Bought as replacement for R1 switch as fully encompasses what is required. Surprised by quality and as good as if not better than original. Ifixit so much more expensive too. Fully recommend.

Easy to fit with phone repair toolkit. Unscrew the 8 screws. ( dont forget to remove the micro sd before removing the back as I found out it snapping when changing the NVMe card last time) 3 screws and the old pops out after removing the connector and cable. Put the new in slightly to the right and swing in as the top button switch is on the end of the pcb. Screw down and same for the other . Leave back off turn on and press buttons and recalibrate easy enough then screw back on and put card in . Its really that quick and easy. Centres better than oem and feels slightly more feedback on motion. Once calibrated and gyro reset the jitter goes and zero spot on. Will how long they last but so far, spot on.

Context: I have repaired electronics in the past and have replaced a few shells for switch and PS4 controllers, as well as replacing the shell of my steam deck at the same time as installing these sticks. These upgrades were super easy to install, fairly non-intrusive, almost plug and play. Calibration is quick and painless in desktop mode, simply following ifixit tutorials made this mod a breeze. Highly recommend for any nerds like me who enjoy playing games on deck

initially i bought and fitted the handdiy hall effect joysticks .. but for some reason they felt off .. when i replaced them with this i realised then oh boy were they off ... these are far far superior more accurate way easier too set zero point .. fantastic feeling and don't have the weird unwillingness is the only way i can say it im glad i swopped out for these .. brilliant buy

Works amazing.........if you take the time to calibrate them with the internet little button on the back of the board. I also dropped my deck from five feet up directly on the right stick. Thinking that I probably cracked my screen, cracked the circuit board, you destroyed my deck! I was shocked to find out that the stick absorbed the entire impact. Even though the click mechanism was gone, the deck was still brand new. Would highly recommend if you don't mind the calibration process.

This was easy to install, I had a slight issue with the left thumbstick and the wire for the capacitive touch sensor. It was catching when I pushed the stick up. After adjusting the position of the wire it seems to have stopped this issue. I'd recommend following a video to help with installation and calibration. The calibration button on the back of the board worked but I got a far more accurate calibration by going through the Konsole. The sticks feel much nicer than stock, and I'm quite happy with the purchase.

Massive upgrade for the steamdeck! I had some minor stick issues with the stock thumbsticks and decided to upgrade to these. the GuliKit is very easy to upgrade and install.
