## Description

Sculptor putty is the epoxy putty component of The End Rot system. Sculptor putty is a two component, solvent free, knead able epoxy resin putty. It is moldable, cartable, lightweight, strong, and exhibits excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates. It is easily sanded and will accept paint, screws and nails. It is most commonly used in conjunction with system three Rot Fix, a low viscosity wood sealer and consolidate. The QuikKit is a package that consists of an outer cup that hold the resin and an inner cup that contains the hardener. Empty the hardener into the resin cup, mix and it is ready for use. Comes in 1-quart size.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this product be bent to fit curved nosurfaces after it is moulded in a silicone mold?**
A: Yes, the material is very playable and would comply with a silicone mold. If your plan is to place a ball into a mold and press the material into shape of the mold and allow for excess material to flow through a gate that would work.

However if your plan to to place small amounts of material at incremental times it might be a challenge since the material was designed to adhere to wood not silicone.

In some cases I have used 0.02" aluminum sheet as a form and pressed the material into a void with the aluminum used as a material stop.

Once the material has dried I have separated the aluminum from the material.

For texture after the material has stated to set have pressed a rough sawn wood sample into the material to leave a texture,

In "some" cases once you pull even amounts of Part's A and B and mix the material is sometimes sticky.

The "stickiness" can be decreased prior to application if you allow it to air dry "temperature dependent" for a few 5-10 minutes - again "temperature dependent" (higher the ambient temperature the faster the material sets).

So yes the material can be molded using a silicone mold.

Hope this is of assistance!

All the Best,

**Q: how to store the products?**
A: I don't do anything special. Just leave them in their original covered containers, stored at room temperature. I have some left over purchased in 2015 and some newer from 2017. I just used some of the 2015 product last week and it was in good condition--the pinkish material seemed slightly stiffer than when it was fresh; but when I mixed it together with the white it was completely soft, pliable and moldable and hardened just fine. Hope this answers your question.

**Q: can i use this product to fix wood siding? the wood siding on our house has cracks and I would like to fill the cracks with this product.**
A: I found that it was the BEST product to fill in areas on my siding. I tried Bondo but it is so sticky and set up too quickly. This stuff is my favorite. I picked out small areas of dry rot then applied wood hardener. I came back later and used this SculpWood and it worked perfectly. It dries hard as rock. I am about to have my house painted, the contractor was impressed by my efforts (I am a 65 yr. old female with no experience)....He said that he will place some sealant over it to make sure that it does not show cracks later on.

**Q: Once cured, do you need to use a primer before you paint it??**
A: Primer is not necessary for adhesion, but generally makes covering color easier. Primer will make your item a uniform color before you add your chosen color of paint, so the pinkish color of the system 3 will not stand out. If you don't use primer the System 3 may require more than 1 coat of paint to create a uniform finished color so the repair doesn't stand out from the rest of the finish coat of paint.

This is the most amazing stuff in the world. I have used Bondo, plastic wood (wood filler) and other products in the past to fix holes in wood. This time I was faced with the job f filling in a large hole in my door to replace an ancient handleset with a new modern one. The holes required are entirely different geometry and I thought I was going to have to cut up pieces of wood to match the old cut-outs, then piece them in and glue them. The main hole was way to large for Bondo - and being down by the sea I also worried that the shrinking and swelling of the door might eventually lead to cracking. When I described the challenge, a friend of mine recommend this product to me. I could not have been more pleased with it's performance. It's simple to mix because you just have to mix equal parts. It stays pliable and workable for about 4-6 hours, so there's plenty of time to scrape and mold once you get it in place. It handles like play-dough, soft and pliable, but with enough body to support itself. It's very light and cures in about 24 hours rock solid. I was concerned about it's ability to adhere since it's really not all that sticky when you work with. You will want to wear plastic gloves because there are chemical reactions involved here, but it's really no more sticky than play-dough. So I took some leftover and made a couple little balls about 1" in diameter and (a) placed them gently together (like a snow man) and (b) placed them gently on a slab of wood. The next day, once they cured, tried to break them apart. I needed to hit the little figure with a hammer to remove it from the wood slab and never was able to cleanly break apart the balls, so the adhesion I was worried about is a non-issue. This stuff sticks well, even to flat surfaces. It cures a light brown color and is much lighter than wood or Bondo when it's done. It sands like wood and can be painted like wood. As my locksmith pointed out, however, it does not chisel like wood, so if you need to make cutouts, it's good to think ahead and mold these when the material is pliable, otherwise you may need a dremel tool to work the small bits. Pros: - easy to mix - easy to work - pliable and workable for 4-6 hours - dries rock hard - sandable and paintable like wood - waterproof Cons: - takes 24 hours to cure - does not chisel like wood (tends to shatter) This is definitely my new "go to" patching material for high-use areas.
