Possibly 2cm diameter .** A: I use mine to prune roses growing up the house and it will cut reasonable sized branches. Ash might be tougher. A useful tool for those hard to reach places. **Q: Is it telescopic or fixed length?** A: Not telescopic but good enough reach for me. Not really for large old wood. It's very adaptable to various angles and not too heavy, although it's best not to use it for too long, as it can cause pain in the wrist and arm, especially when the branches are a bit tougher.
