With a small dab of silicone gel lubricant, such as used with electronics, on the femoral condyles, the condyles then slid over the meniscus like the real thing, more or less. It's a plastic model. About 90% life size. Helps to visualize what is going on much better than any computer image or virtual reality representation. Because it is near life size it gives the opportunity to learn or reinforce landmarks by touch (palpation skills) as the knee articulates. I'm thinking of one particular manipulation that benefits the meniscus.
