I think the sound is amazing at this price point and having three speakers on each side of the cabinet makes the sound much better than a BOSE which costs three times as much, so don't waste your money, buy the KEiiD instead. I also have much better control over the bass and treble as compared to a BOSE I used to have. The VW radio receiver is also outstanding for this price point once again. I am sure there are compact stereos on the market for well over $1,000 that sound better than this unit, but even then, how much better can the audio be discerned by most of our ears. Maybe, unless you're an audio aficionado and in that case spend the $1,000 then. Just a great unit, and as has been explained, this unit will not broadcast AM radio.
