Mainly because the quality was way better than expected for the price. It is constructed well using decent materials. It feels good to the touch. The zipper moves with ease and it has a moisture resistance closing which is a nice touch. It has 2 larger pockets on one side and 3 pockets on the other with the bottom of the case wider than the opening. I used to use a hard plastic type case with multiple cubbies which helped with organization but was just not great for travel due to the hard sides. With this soft sided organizer you seem to always be able to put one more thing in. Which may be a negative? But this is easily stored in your backpack or luggage. I primarily got this for travel and it is working out just fine for that with it's size, construction and packability. However, the interior being made of black fabric makes it very hard to see items in it, especially small, dark items deep in the side pockets. If the interior were light colored, this would be pretty much perfect.
