The default "Regular" sound profile is incredibly transparent, smooth, and pleasant to listen to for hours without giving your audience ear fatigue. More expensive does not mean better sound quality. If you want a plug-and-play wireless microphone that actually sounds like a natural human being rather than a flat, processed digital file, save your money and buy the original DJI Mic Mini. It is an absolute masterpiece for vocal tone. They weigh very lightly. Light enough to magnetise to a T-shirt. They have a few handy functions on the mimo app. The batteries last a long time. Enough for all-day filming. Versatile enough to use in a handheld adapter. Not everyone wants to have a robotic-sounding, samey voice, some people want their original, untainted voices to shine through. I only sent it back so I could get the two transmitter set. Mic creators and producers, please take note: a large pool of content creators and artists DO actually appreciate the originality of their natural voices without aggressive algorithmic squashing.

The first thing you notice is the size. The transmitter is around 10g, so once it is clipped or magnetised onto a top it genuinely disappears. It does not drag the fabric down or flip outward, even on a thin t-shirt, which matters a lot when you are on camera. The sound is the real win. It comes out full and warm, never thin or tinny, and the two noise cancellation levels do a proper job. Basic is clean indoors, and Strong cut through a windy street far better than I expected. Pairing is instant, and the automatic limiting has saved me more than once when I got louder than planned. Battery has been a non-issue. I get a full filming day from one charge, and the case tops it back up several times over, so I never think about power. One honest note. There is no onboard recording or 32-bit float like the bigger DJI Mic 2, so for high-stakes paid shoots you might want that safety net. For phone-based content like mine, I have never once missed it. Excellent quality mic, easy to pair with the TX and it pairs with my DJI Action 4 without the separate TX. Clips onto my motorbike helmet chin curtain with the little magnet. It remembers the pairing so you can turn the Action 4 off and back on again and it'll reconnect almost instantly. Battery life is great, just wish you could charge without the dock but I guess that design is to reduce the size by eliminating a USB-C port. Sound quality seems excellent for its size. For the price of about £50 you can't go wrong. Even has a nice little bag to keep it all together. Tested the TX with my Fuji X-T4 and it works great with that. The TX clips on the hot shoe and cable goes into the 3.5mm jack. Auto level works well too. Although I found there is sometimes still some clipping when used in motorbike helmet even at the max of - 12dB.

Bought to use with my Google Pixel phone. I found I needed both the Transmitter and Receiver to work properly with my phone with the native Camera app. However, I was able to connect the Transmitter directly to my Insta360 Ace Pro 2 without the receiver (just Bluetooth). I'm sure it would work perfectly with any device accepting a 3.5mm jack (not tried that yet). Weirdly complicated to set this up with the DJI Osmo7P gimble. So many tiny little boxes and wires all need charging and interconnecting. Works though - and the quality is great. I also thought it was really good value.

This DJI Mic Mini is honestly one of the best purchases I’ve made for my videos. The audio quality sounds clear, professional, and much better than recording directly from my phone. It’s super lightweight, easy to connect, and perfect for content creators, vlogging, interviews, and TikTok videos. I also love how portable and compact it is, making it easy to carry everywhere. The battery life is great and the microphone does an amazing job reducing background noise. Definitely worth the investment if you want to improve the sound quality of your content.

I was looking for a wireless mic mini series as my brother will use my DJI Mic 1 for his interior designing project. The Mic Mini may be small in size and lacks some features, such as internal recording, but due to its compact size and light weight, I can clip it close to my shirt collar. The voice is crisp and clear, and the distortion is significantly less than that of the DJI 1 mic, which was also good but somewhat bulky in size. The DJI Mimo app is quite effective for updating both the receiver and the transmitter. DJI is one company that invests in R&D and is innovative in nature. For content creators, it is a good value for money. If you are not using a lapel mic and internal recording, the Mic Mini is the best buy for beginners and intermediate content creators.
